Honda has unveiled its Mugen CR-Z GT hybrid to be competing in Japan’s Super GT Race for the GT300 class. It will not be completing at the top class, GT500 as it will not be a not match up with the Nissan GT-R, Lexus LFA, Aston Martin DB9 and many more supercars. But at GT300, the heavily tuned Mugen Honda CR-Z GT will put up a good fight.
It is still hybrid powered but with a custom hybrid system paired with a new 2.8-liter twin turbocharged V6 engine. Most body panels will be replace with carbon fiber to reduce weight.
The Mugen CR-Z GT will debut in the fourth round of the 2012 Super GT at Sportsland SUGO in Japan starting July 28. In the mean time, you can watch it in action before it goes on a race.
